Q: What is white noise?
A: White noise is similar to the sound of static on an empty television station. It can be found in nature in the waves crashing on the shore and in the sound of waterfalls. White noise is composed of all frequencies of sound - much like the color white is composed of all colors. White noise sounds like “sshhhhh” but there’s more to it than just a shushing noise. White noise isn’t just “noise”... it is a harmonious combination of all frequencies that isn’t harsh on the ears. Back to top
Q: Why can’t I just use the hairdryer or a static on the radio?
A: Our white noise is equalized to be round and smooth... not harsh (or damaging) like the sound of a hairdryer or vaccuum. Plus, do you really want to run your vaccuum all night? Sleepbaby was created when I tried to use the static on the radio to calm my baby and it always seemed that when he was starting to get calm, the radio would slightly tune into something and we would get blasted with mariachi music or talking. That, of course, sent him over the edge again and i had to wait another 10 minutes before he would calm down. It was just too difficult to guess which station wasn’t going to suddenly turn on us. Sleepbaby is reliable, predictable, and won’t suddenly blast 80’s rock at your sleepy baby.

Q: Does this really work?
A: As remedies work for some and not for others, it won't work for everyone. But Sleepbaby does work for most and we have gotten a widespread positive response. Sleepbaby is sold in doctors and midwifery offices. You can be confident that trusted professionals recommend Sleepbaby. We can’t think of a better endorsement. Back to top
Q: Can I hear a sample?
A: You can listen to a sample on the “listen” page or by clicking here .
Q: When should I play it?
A: Play the cd when baby is going to sleep as part of a bedtime or nap ritual. Don’t play the cd when it is not time to sleep. You want your baby to associate hearing the cd with going to sleep. It is good to keep a copy in the car as well to help baby nod off and stay asleep. Back to top
Q: Is it addictive? Will he ever be able to sleep without it?
A: Sleepbaby is not addictive. You can stop it at any time you wish. Sleepbaby helps calm baby to reduce wakings and masks sounds that might wake baby up. After a while of use, you can stop and see if your baby has learned how to go back to sleep on his own yet or maybe he might need the extra help a little longer. It is ultimately up to you how long you use it. It has been shown in studies that toddlers also benefit from sleeping with white noise. Q: How loud should I play the cd?
A: Start by playing it softly. Increase the volume as needed to mask unwanted noise or decrease the volume to find a comfortable and relaxing level for your baby. Every baby is different!
