The use of white noise can recreate the feeling of being in the womb and help mask ambient noises that wake baby up. Studies have shown that white noise can soothe colicky babies as well as non-colicky babies, helping them sleep better and longer. Studies have also been done on toddlers and show that nighttime wakings were reduced with the use of white noise.
